Johanna（ヨハナ）先生の「息を呑むような自然の驚異」旅行記

本日は、hanaso講師の英文レポートをご紹介します。
今回のレポートを書いて頂いた先生は、Johanna（ヨハナ）先生です！
Johanna（ヨハナ）先生、フィリピンの人気リゾート地のPalawan（パラワン）島に行ってきました！
Palawan（パラワン）島は、アメリカの旅行雑誌で、「世界のベストアイランド」の第１位に選ばれた実績もある世界的に有名なリゾートです。
Palawan（パラワン）島は、過去にSuri（スリ）先生や、Maemi（マエミ）先生も旅行記を書いていますが、海外の観光客だけではなく、自国の人たちも魅了するようなリゾートなのでしょう。
それでは、Johanna（ヨハナ）先生のレポートをご紹介します！
Breathtaking Wonders of Nature ～息を呑むような自然の驚異～
Puerto Prinsesa Underground River is one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.
It is located in the western part of the Philippines in the center of Puerto Prinsesa City, Palawan.
Puerto Prinsesa（プエルト・プリンセサ）地底河川は、新しい自然の七不思議の一つと言われています。It is located in the western part of the Philippines in the center of Puerto Prinsesa City, Palawan.
ここは、フィリピン西部のPalawan（パラワン）島・Puerto Prinsesa市の中央に位置しています。
The river flows through the cave before going into the West Philippine Sea.
It is one of the world’s longest underground rivers. It is also a World Heritage Site.
この川は洞窟を通過して南シナ海（フィリピン名：West Philippine Sea）へ流れています。It is one of the world’s longest underground rivers. It is also a World Heritage Site.
そして、この川は世界最長の地底河川です。また、世界遺産にも登録されています。
We’ve seen a lot of forest formations with different trees and plant species.
The rock formations were simply amazing too! Different kinds of birds can be heard and seen flying around or just having a relaxing time on trees.
Stalactites can be found in the cave’s ceiling with bats hanging in them.

そしてこの岩層は驚くばかりでした！
様々な種類の鳥の声を聞き、また木の周りを飛んだり、木の上でリラックスしている姿を見ることもできます。
また、コウモリのぶら下がる洞窟の天井は、鍾乳石で覆われています。
After the boat ride inside the cave, we enjoyed having fun in the beach!

今回の旅行は本当に忘れられない素晴らしい経験となりました！
ＫＯＫＯがつくづく思うのは、地形から考えて当たり前のことですが、フィリピンは他の東南アジアの国（例えばタイやベトナムなど）と比較して、海やビーチをテーマにした見どころが非常に多いです。
しかし、これだけ美しい場所があるのにも関わらず、海外のリゾート地へ遊びに行くのに「フィリピンに行こう」と考える日本人は、まだまだ少ないように感じます。
これからフィリピン政府も観光業を後押しするようですので、興味のある方は是非、Palawan島を筆頭にしたフィリピンのリゾート地を訪れてみて下さい！
